Environmental Impacts

An environmental impact is defined as any change to the environment, whether negative or positive, caused by the activities, products, or services of a facility. In other words, it is the impact of human activity on the environment. For example, when volatile organic compounds are released into the environment, the result is pollution in the form of smog, which is negative in this case. It can also go the other way, with a person picking up litter having a positive impact on the local environment.
