Bioremediation is a new technology that can be used in conjunction with other physical and chemical treatment methods to provide comprehensive management of a wide range of environmental pollutants. Efforts must be made to create a synergistic interaction between the environmental impact on the fate and behaviour of environmental contaminants, as well as the selection and performance of the best bioremediation technique and another relevant technique that can sustain the effective and successful operation and monitoring of a bioremediation process.
